Yang-Tai-Chi-Chuan-Practice-GuideAbout the Audio Practice Guide MP3
Remembering Tai Chi routines poses a significant challenge for all Tai Chi beginners, while synchronizing a group into a graceful unit proves a demanding task for most Tai Chi instructors. This practice guide produced by TCCII has those two primary purposes in mind: to provide a portable audio guide to help students remember the next movement; and a teaching tool for instructors to help their students learn the timing used by Yang Tai Chi Chuan’s foremost grandmasters. By using this Audio practice guide in class, teachers can focus on observing and correcting postures instead of calling out movement names.

This album includes the most important and popular Yang Tai Chi Chuan forms, such as the Cheng Man Ching 37 Form and the traditional Yang Long Form. The Long Form is called out in a way suitable for those who practice the 85, 103 or 108 form. We also included the traditional Yang Tai Chi weapon routines for Sword, Saber and Spear.

The bilingual English and Chinese feature offers many added benefits: English speakers can learn the original names in Chinese with proper pronunciation; Chinese instructors now have English translations to facilitate their teaching; and the dual language feature helps bilingual groups of Tai Chi lovers practice or perform together with synchronicity.

Yinong Chong, one of the foremost interpreters of traditional Chinese culture in the West, narrates this Audio Practice Guide. She is a native Chinese speaker with a flawless English accent. A Tai Chi practitioner herself, she has paid much attention to the flow and timing of the calling. The traditional Long Form followed the timing of Master Fu Zhongwen, while the 37 Short Form was modeled after master Cheng Man Ching’s presentation. All callouts are timed to start each movement with the English name.
