Bai Wenxiang - Traditional Wushu

Grand Master Bai Wenxiang (白文祥大师) was born in Henan Province, China in 1947. He began his full time Kung Fu training at the age of nine, and became a professional martial artist in the 1970s, winning the second place in Men's Cudgel Play, the third place in Men's Long Fist Form and Straight Sword Play in the National Martial Arts Competition in 1974 and 1975. After graduating from Beijing Physical Education University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Wu Shu (Chinese Martial Arts), Master Bai became the coach of National Wushu Team of China in late 1980's. From 2002 – 2006, Master Bai was the head coach of Shaanxi Provincial Wushu Team. Currently he is the Vice President of the Shaanxi Provincial Wushu Association.

Master Bai has studied traditional Wushu and internal martial arts with several prominent world-class martial arts exponents in China. He was trained by grandmaster MA Xianda, the most famous Chinese Wushu theorist, and Grandmaster of Tongbei (通背拳). He also studied Xingyi (形意拳) with Grandmaster ZHANG Tong. He learned Bagua Zhang (八卦掌) and Six Harmony Boxing with Grandmaster LIU Chuntang, and Seven Star Praying Mantis (七星螳螂拳) with Yu Tiantang (于天堂), AKA Yu Hai (于海). He also studied Yang Taijiquan with Fu Zhongwen as well as Chen, Zhaobao and Sun style Tai Chi Chuan. 

Following his successful career as a professional athlete, Master Bai became a nationally distinguished Wushu coach. As the senior professional Wushu coach for almost 40 years, Master Bai trained many National Wushu Champions, including the “Wushu Prince” ZHAO Changjun, who won the National All-Around Wushu Championship for ten consecutive years in China. His other students include Ms ZHANGg Xianping, Ms. CHU Fenglian, Mr. CUI Yi, Mr. SHAO Zhaoming and Mr. ZHANG Long, all national title holders in martial arts.

Master Bai has visited many countries to promote cultural exchange through traditional Kung Fu. These included the UK, USA, South Korean, Philippine, Australia, Vietnam and several countries in Africa. While serving as the head coach of the National Wushu Team in Malaysia in 1990's, he trained several world Wushu champions such as Mr. Cai Xianyou, Mr. Pan Zhigang and Mr. Quanan.

In addition to his vast knowledge of the Wushu curriculum, Master Bai teaches several forms of traditional Chinese Boxing including Double Hand Sword, Praying Mantis Boxing, Pi Gua Quan (Axe Fist Boxing), Fan Zi Quan (tornado fist), Baji Quan (Eight Extreme Boxing), Xingyi Quan (Form & Will Boxing), Zhaobao Tai Chi and many other traditional Kung Fu styles and weapons.

自从国家高级教练、武术大师白文祥在美国首都亮相以来，大华府地区的中外武术爱好者有幸在不同场合目睹过白老师的矫健身影和熠熠风采，更有不少太极武术爱好者翘首以盼，希望培养过一批武术精英的白教练能给自己亲手栽培的机会。

为满足大家的要求，中国传统文华学院诚邀白教练亲执教鞭，精心传艺。不论你是希望入门于名师的初学者，还是颇有造诣的中华武术爱好者，每周一次受教于名师的规范训练，将为你提供一个入门、升华以致炉火纯青的锻炼良机。

教学内容包括传统杨式太极拳（85式/108式），杨式太极剑（51式/54式），和形意八卦基础，周末授课。白大师善长根据学员的特点，因材施教，循序渐进，亲手指点。学员们不仅能亲身体会白教练集陈式、杨式、吴式、孙式和赵堡太极为一身的多样化风格，更能受益于他在太极形意等内家拳方面的深厚功底，在他诲人不倦的教学风格里，步入太极与武术文化的殿堂，汲取精髓，修身养性，扎扎实实地为自己的身心健康作长期投资。

白大师自幼习武，精通长拳、南拳、刀、剑、棍、枪，以及形意拳、八卦掌、翻子拳、螳螂拳、短棍鞭杆、武当剑、和双手剑等传统和现代武术项目，在陈式、杨式、吴式、孙式和赵堡太极拳和太极剑上也造诣非凡，又在北京体育学院教练员专科深造，并参加国家极培训班学习运动心理训练、体育运动训练和竞赛中的心理测试、调整及评价等。除参与国家体育运动中心训练教材、比赛套路等编写外，他还在国内外出版武术著作及文章多篇，是一位武术与理论兼修的出色人才。

白老师1970年即组建陕西省武术队，多次在全国及国际武术比赛中取得优异成绩。2002年陕西省武术运动管理中心成立后，又担任中心竞赛训练办公室主任，兼任陕西省武术套路队总教练。他率领陕西队多次夺得全国比赛团体金、银牌，培养的运动员也屡获各项目冠亚军。尤其出色的弟子是赵长军，不仅夺得全国武术全能十连冠，还成为李连杰之后的一代影视明星。
