Wushu: Art Meets Kung Fu
Chinese Wushu is a modern art form that blends elements of traditional Kung Fu, acrobatics, and dance into a visual treat. Empty hand forms, swords, and other weapons are used amidst a backdrop of music and dance to create a form of entertainment that blends ancient and modern Chinese culture.
Contemporary Wushu training developed in modern China. Graduates of the Wushu schools, such as Jet Li, have gone on to successful careers in acting and film. Others have performed and entertained in theaters and opera houses.
Beginning Wushu training emphasizes physical fitness and conditioning. Students learn a wide variety of Kung Fu skills, tumbling, jumping, and flipping. Discipline, flexibility, strength and coordination are just of the few benefits of this training.
TCCII offers Wushu classes for children and adults.
